
America developed its own version of bagels which are slightly different to the traditional ones as they are softer and  sweeter then usually eaten fresh out the oven.
Even with mass production of bagels today they are still very popular and have the traditional hole and still that lovely chewy taste.
Today you can buy a variety of bagels often with toppings such as sesame seeds or sprinkled with flour and some shops even sell ready filled warm bagels – mmm the sight and smell….
However, nothing beats the satisfaction of making them yourself! A delicious breakfast can be produced using bagels with different fillings (just remember the hole in the middle for tomato ketchup or the yolk of your fried egg to ooze through). Ideal if you have folks to stay or for your own family. Then put a few other brekkie bits alongside such as yoghurt or fruit and a super tasty breakfast is soon ready to be eaten and enjoyed.

Experiment with different flours like wholegrain, different toppings from sugar and cinnamon to cheese and lots of delicious fillings which can be either sweet or savoury.
