There’s nothing like a bowl of soup, upon a chilly day
To satisfy and comfort me, then set me on my way.
There are classics like tomato, but they lack that inspiration,
Perhaps El Gusto can provide some needed motivation!
For something that will stick with me, my hunger to suppress,
I’ll try a Bean and Parsnip Soup, with toastie too, no less!
A touch of sage and bay leaf, with some onion minced so fine,
For an extra depth of flavour, it even has some wine!
Perchance a Chicken Soup will do, with wild rice and herbs,
Onions, kale and garlic too, a recipe soup-erb!
A touch of crushed red pepper flakes will give this one some zest,
And when I find it’s gluten free, then truly I’m impressed.
I’ll try the taste of Green Pea Soup, with goat’s cheese and with bacon,
‘Tis creamy to the palate, and a favourite in the makin’.
Potatoes, mint and tarragon, and even frozen peas,
The family will love it, and this one is sure to please.
I’ve always loved an Onion Soup, and this one looks delicious,
With thyme and beans and olive oil, it’s bound to be nutritious.
And look! It even freezes! Which is always an advantage
In making days go smoothly, when my planning I mismanage.
Now here I have a challenge, that I’ve rarely had before,
Instead of one new soup to try, somehow, I now have FOUR!
So, one-by-one, I’ll try them all, each one within the group,
And thanks to the El Gusto team, we’ll have delicious soup!
