    Can this be frozen?

    • El Gusto

Yes, Nuts and Bolts can successfully be frozen and this extends their shelf life considerably.

I’d like to make this recipe but live in the UK and can’t find a french onion soup mix anywhere, do you have any suggestions what to use instead please?

    • El Gusto

I would try a mixture of dried onions and herbs. As a rough guide:

      1tbsp dried onion flakes
      1tsp dried thyme
      1tsp paprika
      1tsp garlic powder
      1tsp onion powder
      Salt and pepper

For UK alternative cereals I used Cheerios and Shreddies.
This makes a very large amount, so you could easily halve the recipe.
    Delicious!

Such a good old favourite! Very addictive. I like to change it up a bit. A combination of cashews and peanuts is nice or substitute some of the cereals for mini pretzels and coloured rice crackers.
